Can't believe people are getting so bent out of shape over what was essentially a pre-season friendly.

Last night was last seasons team playing last seasons football.

This.

Sat in a different seat to my normal ST seat last night in the Betway main stand, basically with the Band 1 knobs. The booing in there was frankly embarrasing.

I had finished with "okay" as my entire post a ways back but you took it up again with a lengthy response.

If we are being tedious, you are certainly playing your part.

Have a great day.

Fuck me, you really are dull.

You said people are engaging in 'knee jerk' reactions. Considering the players being criticised have been poor performers for years rather than months or weeks, your misrepresentation is no different to the exaggeration you accuse me of.

Two can play your mind bogglingly tedious game.

And don't worry, you can have the last word, I've got work to do.

Booing, verbally abusing the owners, manager, players and club staff, as well as using social media to attack the club after a poor performance helps....

So 5 of the 11 players on the pitch, then and none of the others are slated to be starters.

Amalfitano has proved he can be an effective squad player in the Premier League.

JOB rarely does anything super helpful offensively but against most Premiership opposition he has done a squad player's job defensively.

Zarate - frustrating and jury is out but he did offering things in spurts last year.

Until you are Chelsea or Man City, these are the type of players you have to work with in a squad and they will have bad games.

But we are now back to your three players, which are not a team or legion.

Read it how you wish – 3 of the back 4, the keeper and probably Noble. The rest, I honestly wouldn’t be particularly bothered if they left or we never saw them again.

Our business has already been very good but I agree about either selling those players or having a squad that will limit their playing time.

But you said "team" and "legion" and again in this post go back to just three players.

Even some of the other players that played in that team last night played extremely well at points last year and have had great performances in the years proceeding.

You original post seems to disregard a large number of decent performances by at least elements of the team because of one poor one last night. I have a hard time reading it any other way.

Re: West Ham v Birkirkara - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
Let’s be honest the game was shit, but when I saw the team I couldn’t work out were the goals were going to come from really.

Maiga should of scored both of his chances don’t care if the keeper made a good save he should of scored.

Lee should of started and Nolan and Noble is NEVER going to work.

Apart from that it was alright and you got to take these games with a pinch of salt.

That they are Andorran quality - no. I don't thing people are that silly except in knee jerks. Maiga did well in France which a level down and Jarvis would probably do well in the Championship and will do okay in our cup games In a perfect world they aren't good enough and should be shipped out immediately but having watched both for a while they are above Andorran league standard.

ornchurch ammer 10:28 Fri Jul 17
Re: West Ham v Birkirkara - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
If Maiga's header and shot had resulted in 2 goals rather than a save and hitting the post then I am sure some views would be different today.

It is also interesting how many are taken in by Zarate; a lot of fancy stuff but no end result. How many times could he have slipped a pass rather than lose the ball trying to take another defender on?

Anyway, the biggest problem was playing Nolan and Noble together in midfield. No pace, no mobility and no speed of thought. Why did Bilic need to see it with his own eyes if he has watched our games from last season? Last night was last seasons team playing last seasons football.

Re: West Ham v Birkirkara - Official Match Thread FT 1-0
ioc - I think you misunderstand my point entirely.

I'm DELIGHTED with last night. In fact, the late winner (which will be plenty to go through) after 90 minutes of struggle was in no way negative for me.

I'm extremely positive about Bilic's appointment, but talk of pushing on and challenging - just because Fats0 has gone - has been premature for me. The reality is that there is no magic wand, Slav can't come in and suddenly make the likes of Jarvis & Maiga good footballers, or make Nolan 10 years younger.

If we are to push on, our business needs to be very good, and those players need to play as little part as possible, or if we can find anyone stupid enough, be sold.

Why are people knicker wetting, it was a glorified pre season friendly and no more than 4 of them players will be in our real starting Eleven come Arsenal.
